Uganda Independent Electoral Commission Postpones Nomination of Parliamentary Candidates Again

The Uganda Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced another postponement of the nomination of candidates for parliamentary seats.

The postponement, according to the Press Release from Electoral Commission affects nomination for parliamentary candidates, special interest groups who include the youth, persons with disabilities, workers and older persons.

“The commission has rescheduled the nomination for Parliamentary candidates, including special interest groups (youth, persons with disabilities, workers and older persons from 15-16th October to 22nd-23rd October 2025”, Electoral Commission said in its release.

The Uganda Independent Electoral Commission is responsible for overseeing elections in Uganda, ensuring they are conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner.
