As we consolidate and protect our gains as the NRM government, Uganda has again registered the biggest achievement in the Sports sector.

The Minister of State for Sports, Peter Ogwang today pronounced that, the Hoima City Stadium construction works now stands at 95% completion.

“We’ve made significant progress on the stadium project, with the contractor indicating that they’ll complete the remaining 5% of work by the end of this month. According to our consultant, the project is 95% complete. I’m pleased to note that the project, which started in September last year, is expected to be finished in 13 months, three months ahead of the 18-month contract”, Ogwang said.

Ogwang said, he’s grateful to the Ministry of Education and Sports headed by Maama and the President of the Republic of Uganda and other stakeholders for their guidance and support. The Hoima City Stadium is one of the best-constructed facilities in the country.

Speaking with delight, Ogwang said, he will soon share a program for the commissioning ceremony, which will be presided over by the President, Maama and and other officials.

“In the meantime, I’ve restricted access to the stadium to allow the contractor to complete the remaining work without distractions.

“Access to the stadium is restricted, and only those with clearance from the National Council of Sports or the Ministry of Education and Sports will be allowed entry. This measure aims to enable the contractor to complete the work on time for the stadium’s handover to the government. I appreciate the support of Ugandans and the meticulous work done by the contractor. We’re excited to hand over a quality facility to the public soon,” Ogwang said.
