Soroti – The Minister of State for Education and Sports(Sports) and Ngariam County MP, Hon. Peter Ogwang, has called upon Ugandans to unite in support of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), emphasizing that the forty years of the party’s leadership cannot be taken for granted.
Speaking during a popular talk show, Airabet Wok(Our Parliament) on Etop Radio, Hon. Ogwang said Uganda’s peace and stability under the NRM government stand in sharp contrast to the turbulent years before the movement came to power.
“The peace and security Uganda enjoys today were never experienced in the years before the NRM. It is our collective responsibility to safeguard and build upon these achievements,” he noted.
The Minister highlighted key strides made by the NRM over the past four decades, pointing to investment in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture, which he said have transformed the quality of life for citizens. He credited these gains to what he described as “visionary leadership and a government committed to long-term prosperity.”
Ogwang urged Ugandans to remain steadfast, patriotic, and active participants in national development to ensure continuity of peace and progress.
“As we look toward the future, it is our duty to preserve and strengthen the gains made under the NRM administration,” he said. “Together, let us uphold the legacy of stability and build a brighter, more prosperous Uganda for generations to come.”
His remarks come at a time when the NRM marks four decades in power, with party leaders across the country reflecting on its achievements and rallying support ahead of the 2026 elections.
