ALIAKAMER PARISH,KATAKWI DISTRICT-The drums are warming. The flags are flying. And in the golden plains of Ngariam County, a familiar rhythm beats louder by the day — the rhythm of Peter Ogwang, the people’s son, the indefatigable Minister of State for Sports, rallying his home base for yet another dance with destiny.
Preparations are in high gear as the NRM flag bearer readies to launch his campaign in Aliakamer Parish, Katakwi Subcounty, marking the official start of a spirited bid to retain the Ngariam County parliamentary seat. And if the mood across the villages is anything to go by, the ground is already trembling with anticipation.
“I’m eagerly waiting to hear his empowering message,” said Patricia Akol of Osudan village, her voice glowing with conviction. “He is the only MP who walks the talk. He delivers what he promises — not like others who come, lie to us, and vanish with the wind.”
In Odoot Trading Centre, Sebastian Alileng, a boda boda rider, still carries gratitude like a medal.
“He gave our group a brand new motorcycle,” he said. “He even supported our youth association with a welding machine. These are things we can touch — things that pull us out of poverty. May God bless him always.”
Indeed, the praise for Ogwang the doer flows like a river through Ngariam County. From the boreholes he repaired to the seed capital of Shs 3 million extended to each of the 293 villages, from the iron sheets for churches to the goats, sheep, and startup tools for women and youth — the Minister’s handprints are everywhere. Roads opened. Schools lobbied for. Health centers upgraded. Dreams revived.
“Who else can do what Hon. Ogwang has done for us?” wondered Peretua Amulen of Kaikamosing village. “Those running around trying to challenge him are chasing shadows. Ngariam County has already decided.”
And as the sun prepares to rise on January 15th, 2026, the people of Ngariam are ready to march once again with the man who has walked every path with them — Hon. Peter Ogwang, their champion, their son, their enduring choice.
Ngariam County is not just voting. It is reaffirming a bond — between a leader who serves, and a people who remember.
“He is the only MP who walks the talk. He delivers what he promises — not like others who come, lie to us, and vanish with the wind.”
