SOROTI CITY-The NRM Soroti City Woman MP flag bearer ,Sarah Inachu has strongly dismissed as “false and baseless” allegations circulating on social media claiming that the NRM flag bearer in Soroti is orchestrating a scheme to overturn the recent election results through the courts and security agencies.
The claims, attributed to a political activist, allege that Inachu’s camp plans to file a petition not in pursuit of justice but as part of a calculated effort to force a re-election under heavy security deployment.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, the team described the accusations as malicious propaganda intended to mislead the public and damage her reputation.
Allegations Termed as Malicious and Unfounded
According to the statement, Hon. Sarah Inachu has at no time engaged in or sanctioned any plan to manipulate the courts, intimidate voters, or influence state institutions.
“These allegations are completely false and designed to create unnecessary tension among the people of Soroti,” the statement reads in part.
The team emphasized that Inachu has consistently conducted her political activities within the framework of the law and democratic principles.
Right to Legal Redress Defended
Addressing concerns about a possible election petition, the team clarified that seeking legal redress, where necessary, is a constitutional right available to any candidate who believes electoral processes were flawed.
They stressed that pursuing justice through the courts should not be mischaracterized as an attempt to undermine democracy.
“Courts exist to interpret the law and handle disputes. Exercising that right cannot and should not be twisted into claims of conspiracy,” the statement added.
Call for Calm and Unity in Soroti City
Team Inachu urged residents of Soroti City to remain calm and avoid being drawn into what they termed rumor-driven politics.
The statement reaffirmed Inachu’s gratitude to her supporters, noting that she remains thankful to the voters of Soroti City, the NRM fraternity, friends, well-wishers, and family for their overwhelming support.
While maintaining that concerns about the conduct of the elections exist, the team reiterated its commitment to peace, rule of law, and continued service to the people.
“Soroti City deserves mature leadership, constructive dialogue, and respect for democratic institutions,” the statement concluded.
