The proprietor of Halcyon Schools, Hon. Hellen Adoa Abeku, has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to sponsoring vulnerable learners across all Halcyon branches, assuring beneficiaries that her recent loss in the Serere District Woman MP election will not affect their education.
Speaking to sponsored students at Halcyon High School – Main Campus, Soroti,Hon Adoa emphasized that her education support is a personal mission that began long before her involvement in active politics and will continue as a lasting legacy.
“My support for your education is not political. It is a life commitment. Even in my grave, as long as my legacy remains, children will continue to study,” she said, urging learners to remain disciplined and focused on their studies.
Hundreds of Beneficiaries Across Halcyon Campuses
Currently, the sponsorship programme supports learners across multiple institutions:
* Halcyon Main Campus (Soroti) – 250 students
* Halcyon Serere – 90 students
* Halcyon Ocaapa – 75 students
* Teso Boarding Primary School – 25 pupils
* University level – 11 students
In total, more than 450 learners are under the programme, with Adoa adding about 100 new beneficiaries every year.
School administrators praised the initiative, noting that the programme continues to transform lives by giving children from disadvantaged backgrounds access to quality education from primary level through secondary and up to university.
Education leaders at Halcyon described the sponsorship as more than financial support, calling it a long-term investment in the future of Teso and beyond.
