Ateker Community Mobilized Ahead of Dr. John Ekure’s Forthcoming Book Launch

Kampala – Preparations are underway for the highly anticipated launch of  We Can Be More: The Courage to Grow, The Strength to Rise,-the newest publication by celebrated author and development advocate, Dr. John Ekure.The event is scheduled for 28th March 2026 at Hotel Africana, Nile Hall, beginning at 4:00pm.

The launch, which doubles as a fundraising dinner, has sparked significant mobilization across the Ateker sub-region, with community leaders encouraging members to attend in large numbers. According to organizers, the book speaks directly to the values of courage, resilience and self-improvement—qualities long associated with the Ateker identity.

Dr. Ekure, already recognized for his influential titles Undeterred and Changing Our World, is widely respected for his contributions to youth empowerment and community transformation. His latest work challenges readers to embrace personal growth and to rise above limitations in pursuit of meaningful impact.

Tickets for the event are priced at 200,000 shillings for standard entry, which includes dinner and a copy of the book, while a table goes for 2,000,000 shillings. The proceeds will support programmes under the Elizabeth Opola Foundation, focusing on tertiary education for disadvantaged youth and environmental conservation.

Organizers say the book launch offers not only an opportunity to engage with Dr. Ekure’s thought-provoking work but also a chance for the Ateker community and the wider public to contribute to causes aimed at uplifting vulnerable groups.
