—————–
When a group of second-year education students at Gulu University were tasked with turning classroom ideas into business ventures last year, few believed anything serious would come out of it. Yet within months, over 100 startups had been registered — some as small food delivery services, others as online tutoring platforms. None had external funding. What they had was an entrepreneurial spark — and it caught fire.
It is this spark that Gulu University, in partnership with OPUL Skilling Foundation Africa (OSFA), now seeks to fan into a continent-wide blaze. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the two institutions launched the Competitive Impact & Innovative Entrepreneurship (CI&IE) program — a bold 10-year initiative designed to train innovators and job creators from Uganda and beyond.
