KAMPALA— Fresh from taking oath for the 12th Parliament, Ngariam County MP Hon. Peter Ogwang has fired an early warning shot to his team and public officials in his constituency, declaring that his new term will be defined by strict accountability, tough supervision, and zero tolerance for corruption.
Speaking during a thanksgiving and celebration dinner held at Skyz Hotel in Kampala after his swearing-in, Ogwang made it clear that complacency and inefficiency would not be entertained under his watch.
“This new term is not for jokes and jokers. I am going to crack the whip to ensure service delivery is perfect within my team,” Ogwang told guests amid applause.
He emphasized that the mandate given to him by voters comes with heightened expectations and that leaders entrusted with public service must deliver tangible results.
A Tougher Leadership Approach
Ogwang said his renewed term would mark a departure from what he described as routine politics, promising a more hands-on leadership style focused on measurable impact at the grassroots.
He revealed plans to roll out regular community engagements across Ngariam County to assess government programs and directly hear concerns from residents.
“It’s not going to be business as usual. This term is for Hakuna Mchezo and no corruption,” he said.
