The political tempo in the Teso Sub-region is steadily rising as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) gears up for the forthcoming visit of the Party President.
In preparation for this high-profile engagement, the Office of the 2nd Vice Chairperson (Female) of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) has called a crucial preparatory meeting slated for today Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at The Hursey Resort Hotel in Soroti City, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
According to the official communication, the meeting will draw together key leaders from across the sub-region, including NRM incumbent Members of Parliament and flagbearers, LC5 chairpersons, district chairpersons, and Resident District/City Commissioners (RDCs).
The agenda centers on strengthening the NRM campaign structures and mobilization machinery as the ruling party sharpens its strategy for the 2026 General Elections.
The gathering is also expected to harmonize grassroots coordination and rally unified support for the NRM Presidential Flagbearer and all-party candidates across the Teso sub-region.
Party sources describe the meeting as “strategic and timely,” aimed at ensuring the NRM enters the campaign trail with a consolidated and focused team.
“The President’s visit is not merely ceremonial — it is a defining moment for Teso to reaffirm its commitment to the NRM cause and to position itself firmly for 2026,” an insider at the CEC Secretariat noted.
The invitation clearly emphasizes that all leaders must attend in person, ruling out representation by delegation — a signal of the meeting’s gravity and the leadership’s insistence on accountability and personal presence.
As the countdown to the President’s visit begins, all eyes are now on Soroti City, where the yellow tide is expected to surge once again, reaffirming the sub-region’s place in the broader NRM political map.
