Usuk-Katakwi, October 23, 2025 — The people of Usuk  County have once again demonstrated unity, loyalty, and confidence in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and its visionary leadership as Hon. Richard Ongorok, the NRM flag bearer for Usuk County, was successfully nominated at exactly 11:00 a.m. at the Electoral Commission Offices in Katakwi Town.

The nomination exercise drew an overwhelming crowd of over two thousand supporters, a clear testimony to the trust and belief the people have in Hon. Ongorok’s pro-people agenda and exemplary humanitarian actions. Every village in the county was proudly represented, showcasing the depth of grassroots mobilization and the spirit of togetherness that defines his leadership.

Hon. Ongorok was accompanied by fellow NRM flag bearers across the county, who stood in solidarity to reaffirm the unity and shared vision of the Movement in promoting service delivery, community transformation, and inclusive development.

The massive turnout symbolized more than just celebration — it was a statement of victory, unity, and confidence in the NRM’s leadership and its continued commitment to development, peace, and progress in Usuk County.

Speaking after his nomination, Hon. Richard Ongorok expressed deep gratitude to the people of Usuk for their unwavering support and trust, assuring them of continued service and accountability under the NRM government.

“I am deeply humbled by your love and confidence. This journey is for all of us — for the farmer, the youth, the mother, and every household in Usuk. Together, we shall build a stronger and better community under the NRM. NRM will never disappoint,” Ongorok said.

Ongorok called for peaceful and issue-based campaigns, urging all candidates and supporters to uphold harmony, respect, and unity throughout the election period.

“Elections should be about ideas and service, not division. Let us remain peaceful, law-abiding, and united as one people under the NRM banner. Together, we can achieve more,” he said
