The ongoing construction of a modern teachers’ house at Takaramiam Primary School in Awaliwal Sub County in Soroti District has reached beam level, signaling steady progress in a project that has become a beacon of hope for the education fraternity in the area.
The initiative is part of a broader development drive championed by Hon. Herbert Edmund Okworo Ariko, the NRM Flagbearer and MP hopeful for Gweri County. Ariko, who has consistently placed social service and community empowerment at the heart of his agenda, has rolled out a series of tangible projects that have transformed lives across the constituency.
Just recently, Ariko oversaw the completion of the Aukot Community Senior Secondary School classroom block, a landmark education investment that was officially commissioned by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among. The facility will next year open doors for hundreds of learners who previously walked long distances in search of conducive study environments.
Gweri County is rising, brick by brick, under the stewardship and vision of Hon. Herbert Edmund Okworo Ariko
Beyond education, Ariko’s footprint extends to vital infrastructure and basic service delivery. His water supply projects in Aukot, Gweri, and Awaliwal have drastically improved access to clean water, ending years of reliance on unsafe sources. In addition, his push for rural electrification has seen power extended to several villages, lighting homes, schools, and small businesses.
Residents describe him as a leader with a generous heart, ever responsive to community needs and committed to inclusive development. From paying school fees for disadvantaged learners to supporting church and health initiatives, Ariko’s generosity has left a visible mark across the sub-counties.
With these achievements already visible on the ground, many believe that come 2026, Ariko’s name will not just appear on the ballot—it will whisper triumph. The confidence among locals is palpable; development, they say, speaks louder than politics.
As the Takaramiam PS teachers’ house nears completion, one thing is clear—Gweri County is rising, brick by brick, under the stewardship and vision of Hon. Herbert Edmund Okworo Ariko.
