The recently elected Vice National Youth Chairperson for the Eastern Region, Samuel Omaria Ome has called upon young people across Uganda to unite behind the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential flagbearer, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and all party candidates in the forthcoming elections.

As President Museveni continues his series of presidential rallies across the Teso Subregion, Ome has stood out as a vibrant and outspoken mobilizer, passionately engaging youth in various districts and villages. His message is clear and consistent that the NRM government remains the only political force with a solid, people-centered ideology capable of transforming the nation and safeguarding the future of young Ugandans.

Ome emphasizes that the time has come for young people to take charge of their destiny by actively participating in the country’s political processes. He noted that youth make up the largest portion of Uganda’s population and therefore hold the power to shape the nation’s leadership direction.

“The youth must stand firm and make informed decisions,” Ome said during the presidential rally in Ngariam County “We should vote leaders who understand our challenges and are committed to real solutions. The NRM has consistently demonstrated that commitment through programs that empower us from education to entrepreneurship and peacebuilding.”

He further urged youth to remain focused, disciplined, and united under the NRM’s vision, arguing that political stability and continuity are key ingredients for development. 

As President Museveni’s campaign trail moves through Teso and neighbouring regions, Ome has been instrumental in mobilizing grassroots support, coordinating meetings, and inspiring enthusiasm among first-time voters He credits Museveni’s leadership for the steady progress in sectors such as infrastructure, education, and youth employment.

Ome cited the expansion of technical institutes and youth livelihood programs as tangible evidence of the government’s commitment to young people’s welfare. He encouraged the youth not to be swayed by short-term promises from opposition politicians but to look at the long-term achievements made under the NRM government.

Beyond politics, Ome appeals for unity and peaceful coexistence among all Ugandans, emphasizing that the country’s development depends on collective effort. He highlighted the importance of civic education, skills development, and innovation among youth as the foundation for a prosperous future.

“Let us continue to build on what has been achieved,” he concluded. “Our generation must carry forward the NRM vision of peace, progress, and prosperity for all.”

Through his dynamic leadership and persuasive mobilization, Samuel Omaria Ome continues to cement his position as one of the emerging youth voices in Uganda’s political landscape a symbol of hope and active participation in shaping the nation’s future.
