SOROTI CITY-The drumbeat of identity is calling once again, and this December, the Ateker people will answer it in grand fashion. The Ateker Cultural Night, now in its vibrant 2nd Edition, returns on December 20, 2025, transforming the serene grounds of the Ateker Museum, Soroti City, into a living tapestry of tradition, memory, and celebration.
Far more than an event, this year’s showcase promises a pilgrimage of culture—a place where ancestral rhythms meet youthful energy, where elders pass down stories and children catch them like fireflies in the night. Gates swing open at 12 PM, inviting guests into a full-day immersion of sound, flavor, artistry, and communal pride.
Organizers say the heartbeat of the celebration lies in its theme, “Celebrating Culture, Unity, and Identity.”
“Ateker Cultural Night is where our heritage speaks, sings, and breathes again,” shared event coordinator James Oluka, reflecting the spirit behind the gathering.
From sweeping traditional dances to the irresistible scent of goat roasting and local cuisine, from Alakanar demonstrations to art displays and cultural showcases, every corner of the museum grounds will pulse with the essence of the Ateker soul. And when dusk falls, the night will ignite with live music, comedy, and performances from top Teso and Ugandan talents.
