IRUKO PARISH, KADUNGULU SUBCOUNTY, SERERE – Serere District Woman MP and Minister of State for Fisheries, Hon. Hellen Adoa Abeku, has taken her campaign beyond rallies and roadshows, choosing instead to walk with the people where leadership matters most — the villages.

From Alilimkipi to Adepi, Iruko and Open Gate Trading Centre and others places, the minister met residents face-to-face, listening, explaining and reaffirming her commitment to service-driven politics anchored in results rather than rhetoric.

“Leadership Must Be Felt at Home”

Addressing large and attentive gatherings, Hon. Adoa urged voters to reflect carefully ahead of the coming elections, warning against leaders who thrive on promises but disappear after votes are cast.

“Leadership must be felt in people’s homes and livelihoods,” she said. “Under my leadership, government programmes have reached the grassroots, and alongside that, my personal initiatives are directly improving lives in Serere.”

Her message resonated strongly, striking a balance between accountability, experience and continuity in service delivery.

NRM Base Speaks with Quiet Confidence

Community leaders and residents expressed firm support, describing Hon. Adoa as a tested and trusted leader. Jane Apio, the NRM flag bearer for LC3 Councillor in Iruko Parish, summed up the mood on the ground.

“We are not shaken here,” Apio said. “We may be silent, but we are very committed to NRM. We will vote for the President and for you, Hon. Adoa.”

The statement drew applause from the crowd, reflecting a base that is calm, confident and mobilized.

A Record That Speaks Louder Than Promises

Residents across the visited areas credited Hon. Adoa for tangible development outcomes and hands-on leadership. Her blend of government advocacy and personal interventions has earned her widespread goodwill, particularly among women, youth and fishing-dependent households.

As her grassroots tour continues, one message remains clear: Hon. Adoa’s politics is rooted in presence, performance and people — a formula that continues to solidify her standing across Serere District.
