Accompanied by the Iteso Cultural Development Foundation Executive Director Dr. Eriaku Peter Emmanuel and Director of Planning & Strategic Partnerships Ochoggia Abdallah, Papa Emorimor arrived not just as a Chief Guest, but as a Beacon of Hope for 1,500 eager young trainees.

The event, buzzing with energy under the generous support of the Embassy of Australia in Kenya, focused on overseas labor mobility, youth enterprise development, and essential skills training preparing these bright minds for real job opportunities.

Down under, young men and women from the Teso region Kenya, eyes wide with ambition, honing skills that could take them from local fields to Australian workplaces, building brighter futures for their families.

Papa Emorimor didn’t just speak words of wisdom; he rolled up his sleeves. Fresh off the journey from Uganda, he planted a sturdy tree at the venue, a living symbol of growth, roots, and enduring legacy. “This tree will stand tall, just like our youth will in the world beyond,” he shared with the cheering crowd, his voice carrying the weight of cultural pride.

Flanking him were heavyweights in the room, Principal Secretary for Labour & Skills Development Hon. Shadrack Mwadime in Government of Kenya, Teso North Member of Parliament kenya, Hon. Kaunya Oku, Iteso Cultural Union Minister of Transport & Works OKwara George, and a circle of wise cultural elders.

Teso professionals from both sides of the border joined in, networking and cheering on the next generation. Together, they witnessed stories unfolding from youth like 22-year-old Akello Mary, who dreamed aloud of using her new welding skills in Australia to support her siblings back home.

This wasn’t just a program; it was a family reunion across nations, blending Iteso heritage with modern opportunity like VIP driving skills, welding, valua addition, among others.

As the sun set over the Kenyan plains, the message rang clear: empowered youth, united cultures, and global doors swinging open. Events like these remind us why leaders like Papa Emorimor matter they plant seeds that grow into forests of possibility.
