PARLIAMENT-There was jubilation, singing, and renewed hope across Ngora County as Hon. Juliet Achayo Lodou officially took oath for a second term as Member of Parliament, marking the beginning of another chapter of leadership built on service, resilience, and grassroots connection.
Supporters gathered in celebration shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, praising the legislator for what they described as visible leadership, accessibility, and commitment to the ordinary people of Ngora County.

In her first remarks after taking oath, Hon. Achayo thanked voters for renewing their trust in her leadership.
“With deep gratitude and humility, I thank the people of Ngora County for once again entrusting me with the responsibility to serve as your Member of Parliament. This second mandate is not about promises alone. It is about action, service, and putting the people of Ngora County first,” she said.
She noted that her first term came with lessons and challenges that shaped her leadership style and strengthened her determination to deliver meaningful change.
A Second Term Built On Experience
Hon. Achayo said the new mandate gives her renewed energy to continue addressing pressing community concerns ranging from education and healthcare to youth empowerment and agriculture.
“I have listened, learned, and grown from every experience. My focus will remain on improving livelihoods, empowering our youth and women, strengthening education and healthcare, supporting farmers, and addressing the issues that matter most to our communities,” she stated.
Political observers in Ngora County say her re-election reflects growing public confidence in leaders perceived as close to the people and responsive to community needs.
Supporters Praise Her Leadership Style
Several supporters described Hon. Achayo as a leader who remained present and engaged with communities throughout her first term.
Mirika Alello, a supporter from Opot, Kobuin, said the MP had earned another term through consistency and accessibility.
“Toto Juliet Achayo does not wait for campaigns to visit the people. She listens to women, supports youth groups, and stands with communities during difficult times. That is why people trusted her again,” she told this publication.
Another resident, Peter Odeke Owalu from Ngora Town Council, praised her calm leadership and development-focused approach.
“She has represented Ngora County with dignity and maturity. People believe she still has unfinished work to do, especially for the youth and farmers,” he noted.
Focus On Youth, Women, And Farmers
During her address, Hon. Achayo emphasized that empowering young people and women would remain central to her agenda in Parliament.
She pledged to continue advocating for opportunities that improve household incomes and strengthen social services in rural communities.
Local leaders who attended the celebrations said many residents are optimistic that the second term will accelerate service delivery and development programs across the constituency.

As she concluded her remarks, Hon. Achayo called for unity among the people of Ngora County, saying development can only be achieved through collective effort and cooperation.
