Soroti City has elected a seven‑member City Development Forum Committee to spearhead the city’s development.The team is being led bu Rev. Emmanuel Elianu as the City Development Forum President assisted by Hellen Agwaro as the Vice President.
Others are: Samuel Emeru the Secretary, Patrick Oriokot Treasurery, Christine Amado Representative for persons with disabilities and Benson Ekwee a member among other members.
Mayor Joshua Edogu expressed confidence that the team will partner with the city to advance development.
He thanked the outgoing team, led by Daniel Edepu Egoriait, for their diligent service and challenged the new members to work even harder.
Stephen Omoding, Assistant Resident City Commissioner, urged the new committee to transform the city’s development, maintain transparency and prioritize security.
He also asked them to listen to stakeholders while keeping politics out of development issues.
Rev. Elianu pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders for the city’s progress.
The meeting was officiated by the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. The committee also includes representatives from the RCC, cultural leaders, faith‑based groups, the business community, opinion leaders, the transport sector, elders, academia, youth, the private sector, development partners, banking institutions, the health sector, professionals, persons with disabilities, and others.
