KAMPALA-Uganda is hosting the 15th East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games from December 5 to 17, 2025, in Kampala.

The games are featuring teams from nine EAC member states, including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The event aims to promote regional unity and cooperation among member states through sports and cultural exchange.

Hon Peter Ogwang, Uganda’s Minister of State for Education and Sports (Sports), will lead the country’s parliamentary team as they defend their title. Ogwang, who was a top scorer in the previous tournament, will take on the role of lead striker.

The games will include various sports disciplines, such as football, netball, basketball, volleyball, athletics, tug of war, golf, and darts for Members with disabilities. The event is expected to boost tourism and trade, generating over US$ 1 million in revenue.

Tournament Details:

– Dates: December 5-17, 2025

– Venues: Philip Omondi Stadium, Hams Stadium, Wankulukuku Stadium, Kyambogo University, Makerere University, and Namboole Stadium

– Sports: Football, netball, basketball, volleyball, athletics, tug of war, golf, and darts.
