Katakwi General Hospital To Receive New Vehicle From The Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health has donated a coaster to Katakwi General Hospital.

This was announced by the Minister of State for Education and Sports(Sports),Hon Peter Ogwang while officiating at the end of year party for staff at Katakwi General Hospital.

“The Minister of Health Dr Ruth Aceng whom iam representing here has directed me to ask the CAO to write to the Permanent Secretary asking for the Coaster for Katakwi General Hospital and it will be delivered as soon as possible”, Hon Ogwang said.

The Minister pointed out that there are projects which are going on in the hospital like the construction of the Theatre.In terms of accommodation, the government will build based on the staff numbers.

He said as leaders from Teso, they had requested the president to avail Teso 100 scholarships per year and the ministry of Teso Affairs was directed to coordinate this arrangement but the arrangement ran into trouble and the scheme was suspended within two years because of greedy leaders from Teso.

He revealed that Katakwi District is one of the districts considered as hard to reach and hard to stay and therefore the health sector staff are entitled to a hardship allowance.

“Together with the Vice President, we shall work hard to ensure that Katakwi District health workers are given the hardship allowance”, he said.
