Ngariam County Rewards Performance As  MP Ogwang Begins New Term In Parliament

PARLIAMENT-Ngariam County Member of Parliament Hon Peter Ogwang was on Friday sworn in for another  term in Uganda’s 12th Parliament, a return widely seen by supporters as a reward for visible service delivery and grassroots impact across the constituency.

At Parliament in Kampala, Hon Ogwang took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office before the Clerk to Parliament, officially beginning another five-year term of service.

Accompanied by family, friends and supporters, the legislator described his renewed mandate as a responsibility to build on the progress already made in Ngariam County.

A Record Many Point To

During his previous term, Hon Ogwang rolled out several initiatives that directly touched households across the constituency.
He extended financial support to women groups to strengthen small businesses and improve household incomes. Through community empowerment drives, villages across Ngariam County benefited from seed capital support aimed at boosting local enterprise.

Farmers and vulnerable households also received goats and sheep to improve livelihoods through animal husbandry.
In education, MP Ogwang actively lobbied for the establishment of new seed secondary schools in sub-counties that previously lacked access to nearby government schools.

He also pushed for improved health services through support for health facilities, while lobbying for additional government funding for district road maintenance and the opening of new community access roads to ease transport challenges.
Several broken boreholes were repaired under his watch, improving access to clean water for communities.

Beyond infrastructure and livelihoods, Hon Ogwang also supported churches with both financial contributions and material assistance, strengthening faith-based community initiatives.
His annual Ogwang Cup football tournament also became a major platform for youth engagement, talent identification and community unity.

A Promise to Do More

Speaking shortly after his swearing-in, Hon Ogwang thanked the people of Ngariam County for renewing their trust in him.
“The people have once again entrusted me with this responsibility, and I remain committed to working even harder for them,” he said.
He pledged to scale up poverty eradication efforts, strengthen education and healthcare services, improve agriculture, and continue lobbying for more development opportunities for Ngariam County

For many residents, Friday’s swearing-in was more than a ceremonial event—it was the continuation of a leadership journey they believe has already delivered results and still holds greater promise.
